Target market segments are the offshore, utilities and commercial sectors as both prime and backup power. Rapid expansion is expected in these sectors as backup power is increasingly required for the roll-out of renewable energy technologies/data centres and decentralised power generation is needed in remote locations. Carnot power units will reduce the total cost of ownership by £200,000 for 100kW units used for prime power. By providing long-term, bulk energy storage for solar and wind power, Carnot will also be in a strong position to exploit a market which is set to reach a value of £500Bn by 2040. Carnot power units will also provide a clean, low-cost and continuous option for rural communities in developing countries which lack the capital for solar or wind power.
